Well they say you can learn more from failure than success.
And as the last water bottle turned out so well, accept for the design I figgered I’d try something.
I had some random images I printed up as my printers ink was running out (It’s a REALLY expensive printer with equally expensive ink) and I figgered I’d see if sticking an image to a bottle and lacquering over it would work…
…
Well it didn’t
The MOMENT the lacquer touched the image it started running and turned to a gross looking mess.
The good: I learned what NOT to do
The Bad: Now I have to sand the paint off of METAL!
I don’t know why but I’m having fun actually making real stuff rather than just art, even when it messes up!
Also, don't sand the paint off, that's too labor intensive. You can pour on some lacquer thinner and it will eat all the paint right through to the bare metal. It'll be like new.
I was looking at this before i read the artists comments and i was all '....what could that be...are those smear marks....nooo....wait. LACQUER!" I had the same problem with some notebooks i was putting images on and lacquering over...yeah it was bad... :/
